Kevin O'Mary
Long Snapper / Tight End
Having your Quarterback also be the team's Long Snapper is extremely rare. After all, why risk injury to a key offensive player?
The answer, of course, is that no other player on the team can deliver the way Kevin can.
Consistency, accuracy and velocity are the hallmarks of Kevin's long snapping skills. He also takes on this responsibility for
PAT and Field Goal attempts.
Kevin has been QB/Long Snapper* since his freshman days (he also played Defensive End on the Freshman and JV teams, and
Tight End his junior year). Many times the coaching staff has tried to relieve him of this duty,
with unfortunate results. Kevin is a team player, and he brings the same commitment and desire for excellence to this key aspect
of Special Teams play as he does to leading the team as Quarterback.
* Kevin's experience at QB goes deeper than just this year's Eastern League Championship performance.
As a Freshman he led Mira Mesa to its first ever Eastern League Freshman Championship, and then helped direct a winning JV season
as a Sophomore.
